Conference 2016

The Career & Technology Education Council, CTEC

(formerly CTS Council)

Fall Conference

  Thank you,

on behalf of the

Career and Technology Education Council (CTEC)

The CTEC Council worked with individuals and organizations to advance professional development learning for teachers of students in grades 5 – 12 in Career and Technology Foundations (CTF) and Career and Technology Studies (CTS) subjects. Delegates were provided with opportunities to learn new skills, gather new information, and attend workshops, keynotes and information sessions. Vendors, speakers and colleagues shared information and opportunities to learn about new tools, equipment, materials and best practices. Throughout the three days of the conference, 185 delegates from across Alberta networked, collaborated, shared successes, laughs, and enjoyed some remarkable activities and food in a picturesque mountain setting.

Now that you have had time to reflect on your experiences, we hope that this conference provided you with experiences that have challenged you to incorporate new ideas, enrich student learning and engagement, and infuse health and safety best practices in your jurisdictions for students who will be transitioning to post-secondary or the world of work in occupations across all sectors of the economy.

Thank you to all those individuals involved in making this a successful conference. If you would like to be involved, or would like more information about Conference 2017, please contact Karen Kiefer, Conference Director (KLKiefer@cbe.ab.ca)

We hope to see you at CTEC Conference 2017

November 23-25, in Canmore, AB!
